Choosing the right steel shoring prop starts with two numbers: the height you need to reach and the load you need to carry at that height. Get those right and everything else follows.
1. Match prop size to slab height
Adjustable steel props are sold by a closed and an extended length, for example a prop that closes at 1.8 m and extends to 3.2 m. Always select a size where your required height sits comfortably inside the range, not at the very top of the extension.
2. Check safe working load at full extension
The safe working load (SWL) of a prop drops as it extends, because a longer column buckles more easily. A prop rated for several tonnes when closed may carry far less when fully open. Read the load chart for the exact extension you will use.
3. Allow a safety margin
- Never load a prop to its maximum rating
- Keep props vertical and on a firm base plate
- Use more props rather than overloading a few

Our steel shoring prop uses Ø48 / Ø56 mm tube, an L135 mm sleeve nut with a double Ø12 welded handle, a Ø14 mm pin and a 120 × 120 × 4.5 mm base plate. It is available painted or galvanized, in custom RAL colors and with OEM marking.
